How Affiliate Links Work
When you click certain links on IronNest and complete a purchase on the retailer's site, we earn a commission. The commission comes from the retailer - the price you pay is exactly what you would have paid if you'd navigated directly to the retailer's site yourself.
Affiliate commissions are the primary way IronNest funds its operations. That includes the cost of buying equipment to test, maintaining the site, and the time that goes into hands-on reviews. Without affiliate revenue, this site would not exist in its current form.
How to Identify Affiliate Links
Affiliate links on IronNest typically appear as clearly labeled purchase links - "Buy at [Retailer]" or "Check Price at [Retailer]" - in review and buying guide articles. These links point to product listing pages on retailer sites.
In the HTML, all affiliate links carry rel="nofollow sponsored" attributes, which is the technically correct way to mark them for search engines and comply with disclosure requirements. If you inspect any affiliate link on this site, you'll find those attributes present.
Our Editorial Independence
Affiliate relationships do not determine what we recommend. Our review scores and editorial conclusions are based on hands-on testing against a consistent set of criteria. Commission rates do not enter into that process.
In practice: we have published negative reviews of products sold through affiliate programs we participate in. We have also recommended products for which we have no affiliate relationship, because they were the best option for the reader. The editorial process and the commercial relationships are kept separate.
If we found that maintaining affiliate relationships required compromising our conclusions, we would remove the affiliate links before we changed the conclusions.
Retailers We Work With
We have affiliate relationships with several major retailers that sell home gym equipment. These relationships are established through affiliate networks and retailer-run programs. The specific retailers we work with may change over time as programs change, but the existence of these relationships is disclosed here as a category.
We do not disclose commission rates because they vary by product and change frequently. The rate on any given link has no bearing on our recommendations.
